At the Plains (Georgia) Chautauqua weekend in the summer of 2014, Former President Jimmy Carter recognized Chagrin Arts as the newest member of The Chautauqua Trail. President Carter reminded the audience of how the Chautauqua movement was started in small towns with the purpose of introducing people to great ideas, new ideas, and issues of public concern.
